Alcohol Fields Set, Super Shootouts Earned on Saturday of LODRS

Qualifying was finalized in the Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car classes, and wins were claimed in all of the Shootout classes on a cool Saturday evening at the Baxter Auto Parts/GK Machine/Bi-Mart NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.  Regarding the Shootouts, Jolene Scott (Super Comp), Ken Heard (Super Gas), Steve Lowe (Super Street), Clint Geise (Top Dragster), and Danny Wargnier (Top Sportsman) all claimed victories.  Stay tuned for an exciting final day of eliminations, set for tomorrow beginning at 9am.  Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars will run first round of eliminations at 12 Noon.

Jolene Scott and Michael Dalrymple faced off against each other in the final round of the C&C Olympic Heating & Air Conditioning/Lindsey Electric Super Comp Shootout.  Scott, out of Graham WA., took the win on a slim .004 margin of victory after running an 8.922 on the 8.90 index, beating the 8.942/8.90 of Sunnyside, WA.’s Dalrymple.  Craig Blaisdell and Rick Dearinger were the semi-final finishers.

For the C&C Olympic Heating & Air Conditioning/Lindsey Electric Super Gas class, it was Ken Heard and John Whitmore facing off for the winner slot.  Ridgefield, WA’s. Heard defeated Kyle Colletti, Jeff Lewis, Rodney Souza, and Whitmore in the finals after a red light start from Whitmore by just -.008 on the tree.  Souza and Dennis Robinson were the semi-final finishers.

It was Steve Lowe and Tom Brown in the final round in the C&C Olympic Heating & Air Conditioning/Lindsey Electric Super Street category, with the win light turning on for Lowe out of Langley BC.  Lowe had the slight reaction time advantage (.016 to a .023) and won after a breakout finish for Tom Brown.  Tony Hopkins and Allen Macham were the semi-final finishers in the category.

The Rig Rentals Top Dragster Shootout was decided between a pair of 6.8* second dragsters.  Clint Geise, who had defeated Jeff Havens and Arron Spitzer, faced off alongside Trevor Ritchie, who had earlier eliminated Nick Axtman Jr and Derek Baxter.  In the final round, it was a win light for Geise after the reaction time advantage earned him the holeshot victory. Derek Baxter and Arron Spitzer were the semi-final finishers.

Meanwhile, in the RH Racecars Top Sportsman class, it was Danny Wargnier going two-for-two in Top Sportsman appearances for the 2015 season, winning against Robert Matthews.  Nearly identical reaction times were nullified when Matthews broke out at the finish line strip by a slime .002.  Rob Andreas and Robert Strohm lost in the semi-final round.
