Tony Bombara ~ Street Machine II Champion

In this class, the teacher taught everybody a lesson! With only one first round error, this driver went deep rounds to earn the top marks!

The first race showcased Robert Glafka defeating Tony Bombara after launching with a .037 starting line. After a rainout at event number two, the Oldies But Goodies was next up on the docket.  At that event, Duane Turner earned him first event win be defeating Mark Hoefler by running a 13.522 on his 13.50 dial-in. Now with three events in the record books, Turner and Glafka were tied for first with 150 points, and Bombara was sitting third with 110 points.

At the fourth event, on July 5th, Bombara defeated Allen Williams in the finals with a .023 package, which pushed him into a now three-way tie for first. Next up was the Hot Rod Nationals, and it was Kacee Pitts who defeated Jim Lamkin after Lamkin turned on the red light by just .007. For points, Bombara now stands in first with 230, chased tightly by Duane Turner and Robert Glafka with 210. At the final event, Steve Benghiat defeated both Glafka and Bombara on his way to earning the event win over Mary Jo Canfield, coupling a .015 with a 13.044 on his 13.04 dial-in. But after first round losses for both Glafka and Turner, the championship was sealed in favor of the school teacher Bombara.
