Jerry Durant Jr ~ Fall Foot Brake Champion

An exciting finish it was in the 2014 Fall ET Foot Brake Series, as two regulars from the Sunoco Race Fuels ET Sportsman Series battled out for the prestigious championship.
Foot Brake competition at the first event of the series brought Lucky Long and Jerry Durant Jr into the final round, with Long earning the starting line advantage and the win after Durant Jr broke out at the finish line.

At the next event, which was held at the Baxter Auto Parts/Bi-Mart Fall Classic, it took six rounds of racing to showcase Robert Glafka and Andy Harris in the final round.  Glafka had a pivotal third round win over rival Jerry Durant Jr, then used a reaction time advantage and 12.062 on his 12.06 dial-in to earn the event win.

Three events into the series, this weekend’s racing saw Curt Landis and Nolan Griffin doing battle in the final round. And an exciting final it was as Griffin launched with a stellar .002 reaction time, but unfortunately could not run close enough to the number to get the win over the 10.17 of Curt Landis. Three races in, the top three points were as follows: Jerry Durant Jr with 170 Points, Robert Glafka with 160, and Landis with 140. But, as Travis Tritt once said, ‘It’s All About to Change’!

The final round of the second-to-last race came down to Jerry Durant Jr and Jim Lamkin. In the finals, it was Lamkin with the reaction time advantage, but the closer run was in favor of Durant Jr.

The final round of the final event featured Jerry Weber and Jerry Durant Jr. In the first round of competition, Durant Jr lined up alongside Glafka with the championship on the line, and earned the win. Into the finals they went, with reaction times separated by only .001. Both driver’s flew to the finish with Durant Jr chasing down Weber in attempts to catch him without breaking out. Unfortunately for Durant Jr, Weber’s 14.479 on the 14.44 were close enough to get the victory, finishing off the season in the right fashion with a win.
