Dick Arnold ~ Stick Shift Champion

This driver, similar to CJ Stoakes in the Inline/Flathead category, earned the wire-to-wire championship after winning the first event, and never looking back.

At the first Stick Shift event, 2011 Stick Shift Champion Dick Arnold defeated Paul Carbaugh on a holeshot (better reaction time, farther off dial-in) to start the season off right. After a rained out event, the Oldies But Goodies showcased one new finalist in Zac Summers, and one repeat finalist in Carbaugh, with Carbaugh again coming up just short of the event victory, this time after Summers erupted with a .003 reaction time off the starting line. After three races, Arnold and Carbaugh were tied for the point’s lead with 140 points, with a three-way tie for third.

The July 5th event had a final round showdown between Dick Arnold and Shawn Choruby, with Arnold earning a very important win after Choruby defeated Paul Carbaugh first round. This win now put Arnold with a four round lead over 2nd place Carbaugh. At the second to last race, the Hot Rod Nationals, Mark Allan Dolan earned the win over Mark Dowell, who red lit off the starting line. At the final event of the season, Mark Boehi and Arnold faced off in the final round of the last race, with a win going to Boehi after Arnold’s red light ended the round before it even began.
