Woodburn Dragstrip And Its Racers Score Big At NHRA Northwest Division Awards Ceremony
At the recently completed NHRA Northwest Division Awards Ceremony two of Woodburn Dragstrip’s top racers from the 2012 season walked away with a few special awards. Derrick Jackson was awarded the Mel Bresaw Memorial Bracket Driver of the Year award while Kyler Pitts received the Don Rhyne Memorial Jr Driver of the Year award. Jackson won the Sportsman category and Pitts claimed the Jr Thunder win at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Finals back in September at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington.
Woodburn Dragstrip was awarded the National Dragster Be A Winner Be A Member Award. In addition, Woodburn Dragstrip received the Summit Racing Series Track of the Year and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Track of the Year. Woodburn Dragstrip claimed their 14th NHRA Northwest Division Team Championship from the Summit Racing Equipment ET Finals. With their 14th Team Championship win Woodburn Dragstrip has won more NHRA ET Finals Team Championships than any other track in the Nation. Woodburn Dragstrip was also awarded the 2012 Track Managers Cup for their win from Saturday’s Race of Champions event.
