Devon Hilton & Nicholas Shepherd Continue To Dominate, Herinckx Wins First On July 1st
Racing was shortened to eighth-mile for the event on July 1st, but the excitement was as intense as always. With their wins in Super Pro and Pro, Devon Hilton and Nicholas Shepherd extended their lead in the Sunoco Race Fuels ET Series points. Meanwhile, Tracy Herinckx picked up his first win for the year in Sportsman and Jerry Weber earned the victory in Run Tuff.
Both Hilton and Shepherd earned their fourth victory of the year and each maintains a 150-point lead over their second-place rivals. In Super Pro, Travis Hilton remains in second place, 15 rounds behind his father. David Pracht was runner-up to Hilton at this event and is tied with Mark Dawson for third place in the point standings. Matt Claussen, with his semi-final finish, trails by a mere 10 points.
Shepherd with his fourth victory of the year, has a 150 point lead over the second-place position held by Steve Stuart. Matt Kielman was runner-up to Shepherd, while Ryan Schaefer earned a semi-final finish. Eli Taghon, Mike Hansen, and Dave Bronec currently hold positions three through five in the point standings.
Tracy Herinckx took a well-deserved win in Sportsman, defeating Robert Glafka in the finals. The win moved Herinckx up to ninth place for the year. Derrick Jackson maintains a 2-round lead over Glafka in the point standings. Karl Hart earned a semi-final finish and maintains third place in the standings. John Floyd. Jr. and Marty Arrigotti fill out the top five.
Jerry Weber defeated Dom Andreotti for the win in Run Tuff while Marty Stewart earned semi-final honors.
In the A-1 Performance “Package for the Points” competition, no one was able to match the .002 package held by Sportsman racer, Karl Hart. Individual class winners and the winning “package” and product earned for this event are as follows:
