Pro Nostalgia Champion – Mike Peck
In Pro Nostalgia, an exciting class that features 1970 and older style Front Engine Dragsters, Roadsters, Altereds, and Nostalgia Funny Cars. No weight limit, no cubic inch limit…it’s all out baby! And the exciting action in 2012 represented just that, with Mike Peck scoring a dominating season championship. At the Tulip Festival, the series’ opening event, Paul New took down a quicker but faster Peck in the final round to score the victory. Peck had set low ET as the number one qualifier with a 6.761. Unfortunately for everyone, the second half of the 39th Annual Season Opener fell to rain, and as a result the race was not completed. At the next event, the 36th Annual Oldies but Goodies, Chris Marshall’s ’37 Fiat scored the victory over Paul New in a final decided by just five hundredths of a second! The 24th Annual Hot Rod Nationals produced spectacular racing, which included Peck taking his first victory of the season over Todd Miller with a 204 mph blast. And then it was down to one: the 27th Annual Fall Classic, and the champion proved why he should be. Michael Peck took the victory over Lloyd Hamilton with a Sunoco Series-worthy .045 package, coupling a .038 reaction time with a 6.687 on his 6.68 at over 206 mph. Congratulations to Michael Peck, your 2012 Pro Nostalgia champion.
To add to his Pro Nostalgia Championship in 2012, Mike Peck was recently crowned the Champion in 7.0 Pro at the 55th Annual Bakersfield March Meet.
