Jerold Mix ~ 2016 Wilson’s NAPA Auto Parts ~ High School Champion

In the Wilson’s NAPA High School Series, racers who attend High School during the 2015-2016 school years were eligible to participate. They are required to have a parent permission form and a state driver’s license. This season, the high school racers were able to complete all five of their scheduled races.

At the first event held on April 17th, Jerold Mix and Jimmy Hendrickson were in the final round. Mix had a single in round 1, and defeated Devon Dixon while Hendrickson defeated Caleb Winn and Cody Carsner. In the finals, Mix had the starting line advantage with a .013 reaction time to Hendrickson’s .071, giving him the win. Mix ran a 12.304 on his 12.24 dial to Hendrickson’s 12.440 on his 12.39 dial.

The 2nd event was held on May 28th where Jerold Mix continued his dominance and was again in the finals, this time against Kole Weldon. Mix had the starting line advantage again over his opponent with a reaction time of .012 to Weldon’s .311, and he secure the win running a 12.275 on his 12.22 dial to Weldon’s 12.799 on his 12.75 dial.

At the 3rd event held on June 19th, Jerold Mix and Jimmy Hendrickson were again in the final round. Mix won due to a red light start from Hendrickson, who was too quick by -.018.

The 4th event was held on July 10th where Jerold Mix and Devon Dixon met in the final round. Mix again won due to a red light start from Dixon, who was too quick by -.010.

At the last race of the season, held on Aug 21st, it was Jerold Mix and Devon Dixon in the finals again. To get there, Mix eliminated Caleb Winn, and Dixon eliminated Kole Weldon. Again Mix dominated and secured his 5th win and the Season Championship, when he ran 12.408 on his 12.30 dial to Dixon’s 16.732 on his 16.58 dial.
