Fall ET Drag Racing Series Electronics Champion – Dan Shepherd

The 2012 Fall Series Electronics championship had two front runners throughout the series. Dan Shepherd and Sue Mitchell combined to score 330 points and 7 round wins, with Shepherd’s two event wins being the difference in the championship fight.
At the opening event, the 27th Annual Baxter Auto Parts Fall Classic, Dave Sattem took the win and the Wally over Mike Hilsendager to take the early lead. At the September 29th event, Dan Shepherd downed Dennis Weddle in a close all-dragster final round. To this point, Shepherd’s points total was 110, followed by Tom Avgerakis at 90 and Sue Mitchell at 70. The October 7th jacket race showed a hard earned victory by Roger Weddle over Sue Mitchell when her car wasn’t able to show up for the final round. However, because Sue was sitting second in the points standing, a hard week of work went into fixing the car and preparing it for the final event in the chance to leapfrog Dan Shepherd from the points lead at the concluding event on the 14th. Fittingly, the final round pitted Dan and Sue, but unfortunately for Sue Dan’s points lead was already such that she wouldn’t be able to catch him, and Shepherd put an exclamation point on his championship series by beating Mitchell in the final to claim his second series victory.
Top three point’s earners are listed by Driver Name, Points Total, and Round Wins.

1. Dan Shepherd, 190 Points, 5 round wins
