Dragster/Roadster Champion – Ron Austin
In the Dragster/Roadster category over the past few years, there has been one man to rule the roost, and his name is Ron Austin. Austin has claimed three championships in four years in a car that he personally built in his race shop business. The formula for winning was very successful as he enjoyed one of his best seasons ever, winning the championship by 34 points over second place Jennie Perrotti.
With no winner after the rain shortened race on the 20th of May (Baxter Auto Parts Season Opener), Kelly Gordon took the win over Steve Marcus at the Napa Auto Parts Oldies but Goodies. At the Baxter Auto Parts/Sunbelt Rentals Night of Fire, Ron Austin started a march by winning the event over Ron Wirostek, and then posted a runner up to Christina Presser at the Buy.Sell.Ride/Bi-Mart Hot Rod Nationals on August 12th. At the final event (Baxter Auto Parts Fall Classic), the trophy earner was named Tommy Stanford, claiming the win over John Hamilton. However, lucky for Austin, neither of those drivers was high up in the points, and with his 280 point total took the Championship for the third time in four years (2009, 2011-2012)
Final points standings are listed by order of Driver name, Points total, and Round Wins.
