DePeel made his way into the finals by eliminating Jay Wayne, Whitney Carlson, and John Plaster, while Adams eliminated Ken Rettig, Jim Werre, and Shane White. In the finals, it was DePeel with a stellar .013 reaction time start and the win, running a 8.477 on the 8.41.
In the Olympic Iron Works Harley Eliminator category, it was Mike Graver and Dana Herold battling it out for the glory. Graver slammed through Tony Morgan, Henry Robinson, and Bob Osborne to score the semi-final round single. Meanwhile, Herold advanced past Jeff Smeltzer, Eddie Little, John Plaster, and Debbie Ramage to reach the final round. In the last round of competition, it was Graver with the starting line advantage (.028 to a .057) and then Graver with the better run, completing his pass with a 11.449 at 112.64 miles per hour.
