Dom Andreotti Accomplishes The Nearly Impossible!!!!!!!!
An event happened on April 15th, 2012 that is a very rare occurrence at any Dragstrip. Sometimes a racer will be able to score a perfect light. Sometimes the racer will even be able to do that in competition. Even more rare is a racer who can run his dial-in right on to the thousandth. To be able to do them both (a perfect light and run right on your dial-in to the thousandth) on the same run is indeed so rare, it is almost impossible. However, on April 15, 2012 in the second round of Pro bracket competition, Dom Andreotti was paired with Dave Bronec. Bronec was dialed at 10.22. His .057 reaction time coupled with his 10.245 elapsed time gave him a very respectable .077 package. However, on this round of competition, Bronec did not stand a chance. In the opposite lane, Dom Andreotti was dialed at 10.32. His reaction time was a perfect .000. He sped through the traps in exactly 10.320 seconds. It was a perfect run! There was absolutely nothing Bronec could have done. In fact, he did come to the tower and with tongue-in-cheek and said, “Don’t you think this should be a re-run?” Congratulations to Dom Andreotti for an accomplishment that is virtually impossible. For this remarkable feat, we recognize Dom Andreotti as a Woodburn Dragstrip Featured Flyer.
