Dragsters and Roadsters is a class specifically targeting 1969 or older dragsters or roadsters. They use a .4 pro tree and a handicapped start, based on the driver’s selected dial-in. Electronics are not permitted. Five events are scheduled for 2010. They are: 1) Season Opener, 2) Olsiwa but Goodies, 3) Oregon Championships, 4) Hot Rod Nationals, and 5) Fall Classic. Specifically, those dates are: 1) May 15 & 16, June 12 & 13, July 10 & 11, August 7 & 8, and September 11 & 12. Points will be kept for each driver and posted at this site.

The third event of the season was conducted at the Oregon Championships on July 10 and 11.  The finals saw Ron Wirostek dialed at 10.20 and Jennie Stanford Perrotti dialed at 10.35.  Ron was right on at the tree as he cut a .013 light and flew through the traps in his 23 Ford in 10.256 seconds at 119 mph.  Jennie's 33 Ford Victoria ran 10.447 in her runner-up lap.  Tom Stanford and Jim Lindsay secured semi-final finishes.

Dragsters and Roadsters will race again at the Hot Rod Nationals, August 7 & 8.  Jim Lindsay holds a 40 point lead over Ron Wirostek with Michael Boyd and the 2009 Series Champion, Ron Austin, in close pursuit.  The final two events are guaranteed to prove very critical.  The current points listing is here.

The 2009 Champion was Ron Austin.  At the first event of the 2010 season, Austin was successful in winning his first three rounds of competition where he met Jim Lindsay in the finals.  Lindsey's 23 Ford was as ready as he was.  Jim cut down the tree with a perfect light in the finals, against Ron's .014 reaction time.  Austin had dialed 8.86 with his '48 Fiat, but in order to make up the fourteen thousandths reaction-time disadvantage, he was forced to break out by a mere .003.  Unfortunately, the clocks do not care if it was a little or if it was a lot.  the too quick 8.857 sealed his fate and Lindsey took the first win of the series.

Mike Boyd and Tommy Stanford were the semifinalists.  Boyd had faced Lindsey, where Lindsey prevailed, running 9.641 on his 9.63 dial.  Stanford fell to Austin, as Austin had a .016 reaction time and ran 8.876 on his 8.87 dian-in to take the victory.

After the first event of 2010, the point standings are:  Jim Lindsey - 80; Ron Austin - 60; Tommy Stanford and Mike Boyd - 40; Michael Marcus, Scott Utter, and Walt Skoczylas - 40; and Vic Levings, Steve Marcus, Ryan Maygra, Sammy Scott, David Gordon, Ron Wirostek, and Bob Lindsey - 30.

The next event in this series is the Oldies but Goodies on June 19 & 20.
