K & N Filters ET Bracket Triple Crown – Friday, July 29, 2011
Day #1 in the K & N Filters ET Bracket Triple Crown event is in the books. In the finals of the Electronics class both drivers recorded 0.28 reaction times as Tom DeBartolo from Grantsville, UT powered his way to the win with a 7.399, 172.14 mph (7.38 Dial-in) over David Chun Jr., from Vancouver, WA who was subbing for Traci DePeel in the Merritt Family Racing ’63 Nova. Chun recorded a runner-up finish of 10.265 at 128.15 mph. The lone semi-finalist was Mike Hilsendager. In the Non-Electronics class Jeremy Sears from Port Orchard, WA recorded a better reaction time (.028 to .085) and the win over Hollis Rune who hails from Dallas, OR. Sear’s winning time was a 10.024 (dial-in 10.02) at 131.23 mph, Runge’s runner-up finish was a 10.386 (10.42 dial-in) at 129.01 mph. Braig Craig (Olympia, WA) and Dave Wilson (Vancouver, WA) were the two semi-finalists.
